Strong Towns Virtual Curbside Chat

December 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.
Fergus Falls Public Library

Strong Towns, a Minnesota-based nonprofit, nonpartisan group of urban planners, engineers, and finance professionals, are hosting their first-ever “Virtual Curbside Chat.” The Strong Towns Curbside Chat is a program that examines the way we have structured and financed our cities and towns in the automotive era, and discusses the challenges that this model poses to our continued prosperity in the future.

Through our close association with Strong Towns, we are pleased to be able to offer a free live showing of the presentation. There will be an approximately one-hour talk, followed by a question-and-answer session. A free companion booklet will be included with the talk, and refreshments will be provided.

This is a thought-provoking presentation that engages on a variety of topics. Whether your concern is fiscal matters, land use, environmental issues, public health, business, or social and cultural enrichment, you will find something of interest here.

Let’s do what we can to build a better, stronger, Fergus Falls.

Follow-up

Thank you to all that attended. We will be in touch regarding other Strong Towns-based initiatives in Fergus Falls, as well as other opportunities for better place-making and becoming a more engaged citizenry.

In the meantime, if you enjoyed the chat, we encourage you to visit the Strong Towns blog for a look into the thinking behind the Strong Towns philosophy.
